We are approaching the end of season 1 for All32; I am very please how the league is running so far. We have several events happening this off-season that I think we should discuss before we reach the off-season period. The first event is establishing the point system for season 2. I am in the process of evaluating everyone roster to determine the total points for each team. I will be posting each team points sometime by the end of the week. We will use the points for signing free agents, man I am also suggesting that we try something new to enhance the management part of the league. I want the free agent period to be something fun and intense. So I am suggested that each team release a player rated in the 90, 80, and 70. These players would become free agents and be open to be bid on using the points available to each team. Just like in the NFL, the original team can match any bids to retain that player. The original team will have a 24-hour period to match any player final bid. So for example, the Jags release Jones-Drew who is worth 10 points, after a 24 hour open bidding the Bucs won MJD with bidding 14 points. The Jags have an opportunity to match that bid to retain MJD. I think this would add something extra to the league to make it different and interesting. Finally, we need to decide on how we going to do the rookie draft. I have posted the draft picks for each team on the message board. A lot of teams have make moves to obtain draft picks to enhance their team through the draft process. We have two options on doing the draft, 1st we can just do it on the ps3/ea site. This would be the easiest/ fastest option. The draw back to this option is it requires all owners to be present at the time of the draft. The biggest issue is teams traded draft picks to another team. The original team with the original draft pick must select a player for the team in which the draft pick was traded to. As you can tell this can become a huge headache. I suggest we do the draft on the message board on a specific day so if you are not present you can still get the player that you might want. I am thinking we can do a spreadsheet with the rookies with their position and overall. I can move the rookies to the correct team before the start of season 2. Guys remember this is the all32, all I am doing is making suggestion, and it is up to all 32 owners to make decisions for the league. So if you don’t like my suggestion please come up with an alternative plan.

Im personally not a fan of the point system, and really not a fan of letting a 90,80 and 70 player go. I think we should just play it out and as long as we have someone looking over the trades and approving them so there not so onesided then there shouldnt be any issues. Just my 2 cents

I still think there should be some type system, this is a franchise and for that you need a cap and free agents available and so forth. There is teams that are stacked already as it is, and letting them keep those players well it aint gonna help all the other teams.
Just my 2cents lol

But really the only reason some teams are stacked is, it wasnt from the draft because we all had picks every round. Its just that some owners are looking more toward the future than right now and giving up the big name players for picks and younger player. I personally hate losing but im not that worried about it right now because I have a young team that in a few years is gonna be really tough. The only problem i see so far is that at the rate were going with players not getting in there games in time is that its gonna take forever to get to season 3,4,5 I just wish we had some really commited owners that are willing to get in there games to move on and build there teams. But im sure it will come.

I want to thank everyone for posting their opinion. I think a compromise to the 1st free agent option I post is for every team to release one player rated 80 and 70 to free agency. The original will have an option to match any team final bid. The main purpose is to help some team rebuild their team. As we got it now the only way to make moves to rebuilt your team is via draft and or trades. In the NFL, they also used free agency to assist in the rebuilding process. Like I said this is just an option, so we can continue to have conservations on this issue until we find a compromise.
On the topic of committed ownership of teams. We have a strong base of owners that are committed to getting games played on time. I have suggestion that we move from 3 days a week rotation to 2 days a week rotation of games. I also think we need to allow certain owners an opportunity to manage 2 teams until we get the 32 owners. If a owner take on a 2nd team they must be very active and on time with getting games done. If we move to 3 games a week, it would take roughly 6 weeks to complete a whole season versus 10 weeks it taking us now.

On this I agree on owners having to teams, bu the games should be left alone as we have them right now. If you up it to two days a week rotation there will be less games played and more simming.
I think we should leave it alone, if an owner is not contacted or cant play let the active owner or the one that can play. Play vs the cpu, it will usually be a win but then again he deserves it for being active. Also if the owner that was booted has not accepted the invitation, then leave the team as an cpu owner until we can find somebody committed. Also we got to understand that the NFL season is coming to an end, and most of the times interest in playing Madden goes down.
Once again just my 2c...

Personally I am a little confused as to why there is going to be free agency. I could understand if we had regular teams with regular rosters but this was a fantasy draft where most people already drafted their team to their liking. I think we all know that ultimately when it comes down to it, guys are not going to release a player they want or need and will manipulate the system by releasing some low overall rated player just so they can keep the guy they "released" therefore making the free agency period basically pointless. Guys will always find a way to sign and keep their good players and if they can't they will trade them so they can get a player that fits better. Also, I think that advancing games every 2 days will only result in more games being simmed which will only make people mad. Think about it, if games are being simmed now and games are advancing every 3 days, imagine how much more games will be simmed if we advance every 2 days? Just my 2 cents on the topic

I agree with the releasing of players. It keeps it interesting and the owner still has the upper hand to the player by matching the offer, so its not like ur losing a player. Unless we put in a length of time you can keep the players (Ex. 90+OVR Keep for 1season, 80+OVR you kepp for 2 etc..)
I think we should do a draft because every owner is not going to make the deal that they want through trade and although we have the players that we want, they still have the possibility of retiring right?? If so, a draft is need.
If I'm understanding this correctly, we are being asked to release one 90, one80 and one 70 OVE player. Even if you munipulate the system and release someone u really dont need its still someone with a 90, 80 or 70 rating. Someone else could use that player and fill a hole.

I think the draft should be on the PS3, if a owner is missing can one of the commish make the pick?? If not, we as owners must ALL agree to accept the player the CPU picks, after all its picking the player it thinks best fits your team.

well tapp we only going to release players rated 80 and 70. so only 2 players will be release from a team. All owners have the option to re signed that player
